Brenda Abbandandolo is a New York-based costume designer for stage and film. She received
her MFA in Design from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she built formative collaborative
relationships, but it was in the independent film and theater world that she truly cut her teeth.
Drawing on a wide range of life experiences, Brenda approaches design through an honest,
humanist lens-crafting worlds that simmer at the edge of truth and emotion.

Her notable credits include Good Night and Good Luck (Broadway, Tony nominee), CODA
(Academy Award Best Picture), The Antiquities (Playwrights Horizon, Drama Desk Nominee)
The Disaster Artist (A24), An American Pickle (HBO), Mary Jane (Broadway), and The Sign in
Sidney Brustein’s Window
(Broadway), for which she received the 2023 Henry Hewes Design
Award for Excellence in Costume Design.

In addition to her freelance work, Brenda is an artistic member of the Brooklyn-based theater
company The TEAM, where she continues to explore the intersection of collaboration,
storytelling, and design.
